Smart TV browsers are great for viewing and terrible for typing. beam2.tv fixes the typing: you open one short address on the TV once, and every link after that comes from your phone or PC in a couple of taps. No app to install, no account to create, and nothing is tracked or stored.
No phone at hand? Open beam2.tv/s on any PC, type the code from the receiving screen, and beam the link from there. Any screen can send or receive – TV, PC, tablet or another phone.
Samsung (Tizen), LG (webOS), Android TV and Google TV, Fire TV, and any device with a web browser – including desktop browsers, which makes PC-to-PC and PC-to-TV beaming work too. Because it runs in the browser, there is nothing to install and nothing to update.
Does it work on Samsung and LG TVs without an app? Yes – it runs entirely in the TV's built-in browser. That is the point: the TVs that cannot install apps are exactly the ones this is for.
Is it free? Personal use is free. Systematic commercial use (for example digital signage) needs a separate agreement – see legal.
Is it private? No accounts, no cookies, no tracking, no ads. A beamed link is held for at most 5 minutes and deleted the moment it is delivered. The honest answer to any data request is that we hold no data about you.
What if the QR will not scan? Type the code instead at beam2.tv/s. Codes never contain the easily confused characters 0, O, 1, I or L.
Why "beam"? Because typing a long URL with a TV remote is the opposite of the future we were promised.
